Biography
I grew up in Hurstbridge, an artisan region of Victoria Australia.
I moved to New Zealand 20 years ago where I now live and work from my home based studio on our farm in Pauatahanui, near Wellington.
I am often asked about my painting style as I work with a variety of mediums and subjects. Rather than me being put into a ‘box,’ I put the ‘box’ into my paintings. You will therefore see a white painted box somewhere in each of my artworks.
While I have always painted in the comfort of my own home studio, I also co-owned and operated Gallery 1847 from the Historic Taylor Stace Cottage in Pauatahanui. Here I was able to showcase my works as an artist in residence, as well as encourage up and coming new artists through their own exhibitions in our gallery.
I am a passionate artist and I love to experiment in a range of mediums, textures, colours and styles. From abstract designs, portraits, landscapes, still life, or sculpture, I love seeing my ideas come to life.
I have had a number of exhibitions over the years including the Wellington Academy of Fine Arts, Pataka Museum, Thistle Hall and the St James Theatre Gallery in New Zealand. I have also exhibited in Australia, Hong Kong, and London.
COMMISSIONS
I enjoy working closely with clients to create personal artworks – be it paintings, drawings or sculptures.
CLASSES
I run small art classes from my home studio, nurturing children and young adults through their creative journey. I also run art classes for adults.
